Myths Are Everywhere But They Don’t Belong In Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing has become the most wanted career/business for online entrepreneurs. Not so fast, affiliate marketing is filled with ludicrous myths that an unsuspecting newbie might not be able to recognize. But make sure these links are from relevant blogs. For example, if the niche you’re targeting is Traffic Anarchy, then that’s exactly what your blogs should be about.
Affiliate marketing is old but it is fairly new so the masses assume that any form of internet marketing is a scam. One of the major reasons that there is a high failure rate in internet marketing is because people approach it as a some sort of get rich quick scheme and not for the business that it is. If you expect to jump in and make a million dollars overnight then I suggest that you change professions; a poker player, maybe. Making money overnight is not impossible for an experienced affiliate marketer but it is nearly impossible for someone who is new to the field. When you become an affiliate marketer, you get the freedom to work from anywhere across the globe.
If you don’t have a system in place then you will find that you may be better off keeping your job. At your job you know exactly what to do and how to do it, however; affiliate marketing is running a business and requires more skills. But when you’re starting an affiliate marketing business, you’re carrying the responsibility of everything, right from generating traffic to minimizing the losses. In business nothing beats having a plan. Affiliate marketing is usually confused with multi-level marketing, which is nothing more than a pyramid scheme. There is no easy way to become a super affiliate so anyone who makes that promise they are tying to sell you a dream. Affiliate marketing has a huge potential for those who are willing to approach it as a business and take it seriously, is this you?
Don’t listen to the clowns who tell you to only target small niche markets because large markets are saturated. Saturation is a myth, personally I believe that it was a myth that was started by the most successful marketers to keep everyone afraid to enter the big money markets. In large “saturated” markets there are so many interconnected niches in it that you can build your empire with. Secondly, the Internet is growing and constantly evolving, which means, more and more new people are getting online every day. There is room for you in any niche you want to enter, in fact you can conquer many of them with the right approach. People from around the world will buy your products once you get the ball rolling; now imagine that. Really, I don’t know why people talk about saturation when in reality the internet is still growing at a rapid pace and there are many untapped markets.
Banners are a thing of the past, so do all of your visitors a favor and leave them there. It’s a myth that you have to have big banners to catch the attention of your visitors. You are not running a casino; you are trying to run a converting website. Having blaring banners on your site will only drive down your conversion rate, so just focus on your site’s content and keep the banners toned.
Don’t take this stuff lightly, myths like these will hold you back from excelling at something that can pay you more than you’ve ever dreamed of. For instance, if the niche you’re targeting is Affiliate Marketing Blog, and you’re able to conquer it, then you’ll have to put in less effort than before.
